It is intended for learners of Dutch from beginner’s level to intermediate and advanced. The selection of words has been based on the original edition by Peter and Margaretha King but has been extensively adapted and revised to make it more up to date and reflect contemporary usage of the Dutch language. In order to ensure that this dictionary matches the needs of learners of Dutch today, words from a wide variety of different contexts — including the media and I.T. — have been included, and terminology of a highly specialized technical nature, such as nautical and scientific terminology, has been omitted.
