English Simplified: An Elementary Course For Foreign Students

This book is a valuable and necessary learning text for any student of English. It presumes that you have an elementary knowledge of the language, and that you wish to improve it. ‘Students’ would include the businessman whose position requires that he be able to converse or conduct his business meetings in English. The first section shows you how to use the present tenses (I am, you are eating) but it also deals with adverbs of frequency (always, often, some), possessive forms using the ‘apostrophes’ (the lady’s hat) and comparatives (the brother is older than his sister). The exercises which follow each of these points ensure that you practise continually all that you have just learnt; for example, an exercise on possessive forms will include further practice on the present tenses.
