This preparatory series is designed to appeal to a wide range of learners, reflecting the broad reach of the exams themselves. The material and task types replicate the exams as far as possible. The Teacher’s Book provides detailed notes and guidance on lesson procedure. It includes all the transcripts of the audio, and answers where relevant. The transcripts for the Aim at the Exam sections contain suggested responses to the questions, but of course, alternative responses which are communicatively valid should also be encouraged. The teaching notes include suggestions for preparatory work in setting up some of the activities, and also ideas for Optional activities, which provide extra practice for when students finish an activity sooner than expected, and are particularly useful for classes which need to be stretched further.
