Spelling Matters is a flexible spelling scheme designed for group or individual work. The results of the test before each section indicate whether it is necessary to work through that section. The test results may be used as a basis for forming groups of students who need to work through the same section. A graph sheet is included on page 150 to record the results of the three major tests, allowing students to see the progress they have made. The work in this book is grouped according to spelling patterns. Some rules are given after explanation, but much of the work is inductive. All spellings from the scheme are listed in the Appendix (“Word List” — page 121) with mention of the section in which each word appears.
